Bunnies (family: Leporidae)
Description: The bunnies of Cannon Beach, affectionately called “beach bunnies,” come in a range of colors from white, tan, black, or multiple colors at once. They look like the traditional pet bunnies with small bodies, upright ears, and fluffball tail.
Habitat: These bunnies are frequently found along the side of the road or in any patches of grass. Occasionally, they can even be seen hopping along the beach.
Diet: Bunnies like to munch on grass and are found in many people’s yards, eating their vegetation.
Tide Pool Tidbits:
The beach bunnies of Cannon Beach were once someone’s domesticated pet but were released into the wild where they continued to reproduce, as bunnies do.
